Poppy Ride - Orange Delirium

We were out there the day before on the GS...

... a little ditty for my girlfren...

Went back out on the Orangeboom to meet the gals...

On the ridge looking north down on the poppy reserve.

Rough riding in spots, a place I wouldn't even think of riding the GS unless I had knobbies and a friend with. Going up it was tricky then became a second obstacle coming down...kinda got myself in a downhill pickle...

No, it doesn't look like much.

I opted to drop into the ditch and kick a path out with my boot...huff'n and puff'n...

Once I got out of the pickle I headed down Munz Ranch Rd to the general reserve area, but made some detours of course (dirt).
Going over the ridge and down in the valley the fragrance was just stunning.
The butte just west of the reserve proper is open access. Being the brave solo I am I went as far up the butte as I dared alone.

Looking west across the valley, stunning...and fragrant too.

Jean, Susan, and the horses are across a 170th West, I could easily spot them riding back to the trailer.

Now for some really really orange pics.

After goofing around and working up a sweat by making a fool of myself in a deep sandwash, I meet the girls for lunch.
